Hi, just received an email to say my card has been downgraded to Limited access due to a possible third party user. I nearly fell for this as I went to London the other day and thought they maybe just playing it safe. The email is below:
Why is my account access limited?
Your account access has been limited for the following reasons:
We have reason to believe that your account was accessed by a third party. We have limited access to sensitive PayPal account features in case your account has been accessed by an unauthorized third party. We understand that having limited access can be an inconvenience, but protecting your account is our primary concern.

More people view it, but less people know how to respond helpfully, compared to posting elsewhere0

i think i get one of these almost daily
along with all the other scams!!0 -
You can avoid these scams 100% of the time by never clicking on any link in any PayPal email you receive. Every time you want to go into your PayPal account, type www . paypal . com directly into your browser.Elite 5:2 #54 12/13 lbs (18 Jan) 1st Target :j0

I got that one too and it was actually really convincing - apart from the line at the bottom that said "Emails from PayPal will always address you by your first and last name" - but the email was titled "DEAR PAYPAL USER" - but yeah, easiest solution is to never click a link in an email...0

I think real Paypal emails dont actually have links. I had one from paypal the other day but it asked me to change someting the next time I logged into my account and it didnt supply a link.0

As mentioned above they always contain your name. That's the simplest thing - no name - not genuine.0

I use hotmail so I know what is really from Ebay/Paypal cos of the verified 'tick', However...........
Never access any sensitive service like ebay /paypal /bank via an email. Why bother?
Also, I only get to my paypal account after I've inputted a 6 digit code sent to my mobile by them anyway....0 -
