Why not just use a comp site? Far easier and quicker.

Thanks, looking at the prices compared to the standard they are slightly cheaper per unit although the daily charge for electric is an extra 10p, would this in theory just add $3 to my monthly bill?

If everything else is the same then yes. But a comp site check (2 minutes) will give you your exact figures.

Right my annual usage is gas 26715 & electric 8702.

I changed on monday to online saver v10 from standard unaware of the price increase talk, i do have 12 days cooling off period so need to get it sorted before friday.

    Online v10
    $1,724.34

    Std
    $2,039.83

    Fixed 2014
    $2,044.97

The cheapest i have seen is SP capped online till june 13 $1'964.28 with $40 cashback, and thoughts on this please?

Im rubbish at working out figures so could someone please tell me the difference percentage wise between the current online i am on and the fixed figure.

    Thanks

  • what area are you? i just called EDF - was changing to fixed 2014 from OS7 , but after a chat with the missus (and reading alot on here) decided that yes we will fix for the winter - but changed to FixedSaverv2 (sep 2012 fix) as it`ll actually be cheaper than the new OS7 rates.

Fix 2014 is an 18.6% premium.
Suggest you look at EDF Fixed saver v2 as an alternative shorter term fix (to Sept 2012).
NB: the comp sites show not only the annual totals, but the £ and % differences between current and new tariffs-why make the job hard for yourself?

    I come under Midlands.

I was paying 170 per mth when on std rate & now $141 for online v10 i was just trying to figure out if it would be best to stay as i am and maybe save the extra $29 and put it towards the bill when the cost rises or do you think prices are going to rise a lot more than this?

  • using B1 1BB postcode (birmingham council) to get midlands area the cheapest fixed is EDF FSv2 - at £110 a year more than your figures for OS10 (6% difference) , and only 1 cheaper for variable - and thats SP.....

using a comp site is really quite easy - if i can do it for you , and thats guessing a postcode - then its quicker for you :D
