Closed / New Co - op Account?

Hi,
I recently had to close my basic Co - op Cashminder account, due to my debt situation.
A Payday Loan company were due to take £250, which wasn't there, and as damage limitation, I cancelled my debit card and then last week closed the account.
Said PDL company have not taken the money from the account. The account now 'seems' to be closed (ie - I can't access any online banking), but I'm still waiting for written confirmation from the Co - op.
Anyway, my query is -
I have a separate basic account with the Bank of Scotland, which I'm using at the moment.
It does the job, but I'd prefer an account with a Visa Debit card, as opposed to the Electron card which my BoS Cardcash account comes with.
I would like to re - open a basic Co - op Cashminder account at some point in the future, while I sort my debts out.
Will the Co - op allow this, seeing as I closed my old account with them?
I also have an irrational fear of the Payday Loan company finding out about any 'new' Co - op account that I now open. Silly I know!
Also, my other consideration is to apply for a Barclays Cash Card account, with a debit card. Does anyone on here have this account, and is it any good?
Thanks,
Sim.

Co-Op should allow you to open another cashminder.
You really need to think more carefully about your money. I mean seriously? So much bad credit you can only get a Cashminder or an Easycash? And then adding to it with a PayDay Loan?
I can't speak for the previous problems but you're not doing yourself any favours adding to them with this.
Good luck though
Oh, nationwide's cash card account also comes with a VISA debit card.Cashback Earned ¦ Nectar Points £68 ¦ Natoinwide Select £62 ¦ Aqua Reward £100 ¦ Amex Platinum £48

personally i wouldnt open another with the same bank after a PDL has the details, whether i's 'closed' or not. a few banks 'link' accounts (Lloyds). clean break and move on.0

Chuckley, no bank on the high street will link the VISA card number of one account number and sort code with a totally different account number and sort code even though it's with the same bank. Any new attempted authorisations against the old debit card will get declined irrespective of how many accounts OP holds / end up holding with the bank.Cashback Earned ¦ Nectar Points £68 ¦ Natoinwide Select £62 ¦ Aqua Reward £100 ¦ Amex Platinum £48

u tell that to lloyds customers that got caught out with PDL's taking funds from their 'new' lloyds accounts.0

Ive got the Barclays Cash Card account - I like it. The debit card that comes with it is better than the one I've got with my full Santander current account! :rotfl:*The RK and FF fan club* #Family*Don’t Be Bitter- Glitter!* #LotsOfLove ‘Darling you’re my blood, you have my heartbeat’ Dad 20.02.200

Hiya,
I've been considering opening a Barclays basic 'Cash Card account'.
Is it any good?
Which debit card do the offer?
Online banking?
Many Thanks,

Would definitely not try & open an new account with the Co-op. They are not a charity.Ethical moneysaver0
