Working in the charity sector in social care: am I eligible for key worker housing?

Hi,
I have recently got a job as an Independent Mental Health Advocate (IMHA), for Mind.
Mind is in the charity sector (aka 'voluntary sector').
I want to get Key Worker housing in London.
I am a qualified social worker, which would have made me eligible, but as an IMHA I am not employed by the state (otherwise I wouldn't be independent).
Does anyone know whether I'd still be eligible? According to a lot of criteria I've seen, I'm not.
However, it seems a bit unfair that I'm penalised by the necessity for IMHA's to be independent from the local authorities by the nature of their role. They still provide a valuable role in statutory processes.
Does anyone have any idea or experiences themselves?
