If this was an old GWP, we can twist this around and ask why Boots are selling a "free" item.

Not really, with Sanctuary Boots often offers an item that is normally for sale on its own as the gwp if you spend a certain amount. And they are certainly entitled to put a price on old gwps and sell them, and they often do. This is just a straight up glitch, and on the off chance you get accused of something by staff if you give it a go, claiming it's supposed to be a gwp won't exactly help you if you aren't making the purchase it was supposed to be free with in the past, lol.

got up nice and early, could hardly keep still through the excitement of the thought that by 11.05am another load of xmas presents would be done and dusted (sanctuary sets all round!). was outside in the car, in the hammering down rain at 10.55am. sat anxiously waiting, scrutinizing every person that walked past. Are they a fellow friend of martins? are they going to rush in and clear the shelf of these sets before i get there? too many questions going round in my head. finally, at 10.57am the shutters start to go up. i rush to get out of my car, to be crushed as i see the shutters going back down...it was just an employee entering. get back in the car and wait. then, at 11am on the dot, the shutters go up. I race over, rush in and see 6 of these sets on the shelf. I pick up one (planning to go back for the other 5 if this goes through) and add some other random bits of shopping to make it look less obvious. Head to the checkouts, my little heart pounding in my ears. What if she notices the glitch? what if she asks if i already knew? can i get from where i am standing to the door faster than the security guard can grab me if all goes wrong?! i cant go to jail, i have a rabbit to look after...and some kids and an OH. the woman scans it through, and i leave with my sanctuary set....
....having paid £10.47 for the pleasure . that'll be going back tomorrow!!

glitch is no longer working in the Wigan store.

Thanks for posting that ... What an absolute disgrace Boots are. I hope that the poor lady concerned can get some kind of compensation-even if it's just selling her story to a women's magazine!
