    Where?

I've been looking for 20w50 for years, every time I go anywhere that sells oil.

edit - Having re-read the other prices, where again?

    it's £12 for 5 litres at B&Q

I'm sure wilkinsons does it about that price.

Ours does 2l for that price, if they did 5l for a fiver, I'd use it instead of diesel.

Best price I can get is more than a tenner, and that's nearly as much as Halfords classic 20w 50.

I was sure it was that much in the supermarket last time I looked. In fact, I'm fairly sure there is Asda Smart Price oil for £2.something for 2l...

Okay so whats the difference between the 10/40 and the 15/40? I'm off to lidl tomorrow anyway so will have a look for sure.

I went to our local pug specialist who said it could be a number of things. After all its 18 yrs old. My dad has promised to buy me a newer car in Oct when I get my 1st yrs no claims and then giving it back to the brother.
it indicates the oil viscosity 5w/40 is like water in cold conditions and like treacel in normal engine running conditions

so your 10/40 will be thinner in the cold then 15

this should make it easy http://www.upmpg.com/tech_articles/motoroil_viscosity/

Also get it fixed! it will save you on fuel, oil and the enviroment

    5) 15w40 Diesel 5L £10.86

Guy in the local pub refused to top up with the wrong type of oil he had in the garage when the oil light came on. - on the way into town next day engine locked solid- £1000 + bill. I'm no mechanic but it seems any oil is better than no oil at all.

it was less than that... i have used it for flushing. it was £3.28 for 5 litres.. (i.e. 66p a litre). ASDA doesn't even sell it now.

there's no justification - it's just price gouging - the price of crude has remained relatively stable over the last 12 to 18 months.
