Not knowing too much about mobiles, I got myself a new phone today a HTC wildfire S....:D really like it but wondering whether I've done ok with my contract:

£25 pm on orange 300mins/unlimted txt/500mb

now the Desire S was the same price but I got a free Wii with the Wildfire S. Have I done ok???

Definitely better deals out there - be it some are cashback ones (though not all but I ain't got time to look).

I have HTC Wildfire (earlier version) - would have opted for Samsung Galaxy S II now.

I think Tmobile would do the same (no Wii!) for £15.32/mth.

True. For the same number of minutes that the OP mentioned, I have the samsung galaxy s2 for £20.42 a month for two year contract. The handset cost me 99 quid.

You seem to be paying a bit too much hence they gave you a free Wii. I assume your contract length is 24 months. A Wii costs about 120 quid nowadays which is 5 quid a month over 24 months. You maybe paying 5-10 pound a month too much do it roughly equates.

I have the wildfire s and like it, especially its size but it is lower spec than a lot of the new phones.

Thanks, I think I made the mistake going for the Wii, but I like the phone and don't want anything any bigger. I don't suppose I have an option to change my mind on the contract now.....any one know?

If you bought it online and within 7 days, you could have returned it. Anything else - you are stuck (especially with the gift element complicating things).

Look at it this way - the phone is not bad and you got a free (as can be) gift with it. You could try to sell the Wii at near market value to recoup some cost if you must. Otherwise just enjoy both things and next time do some extra research. No point kicking yourself, I will do that for you....:D

DIstance selling regs mean you will have 7 days to return any online purchase. Shop mobile sales often include a returs policy too.

I Have mine through t-mobile, you maybe able to get that many mins etc through tem for £15 or less, try them. You can buy it PAYG for £130 upwards, then get a £10 sim.

Dial a phone have it for £11 a month after redemption on t mobile with that package if you fancy that route.

    Thanks
I got it from Carphonewarehouse and it looks like I dont have an option to change my mind, has anyone tried this with them before?

I'm happy with the phone, but think I've been cheated on the contract
