How much would you charge/pay for this?

I have been asked to make a wedding invitation, she needs 80 in total. I have provided a link to the sample I have made up. It's quite complicated in design so takes me a while to make each one although I imagine with practice I'll speed up! I am just unsure as to what to charge her. I have worked out each one costs £1.60 to make so once you've looked at a picture of the card can you tell me how much you would charge or what you think it's worth? As I'm really unsure how much to say?

Thank you

    they really are VERY nice:D

£1.60 is quite a lot per item, no way to get your costs down a bit? you are looking at £128 before you have added any profit, normally i would say you multiply that by 3 to get your cost, will they pay nearly £400 for 80 invites?

handmade is always so nice but people do not take into account all the hard work and time that goes into them sadly:(

Unfortunately i can't get costs down at all, Ive shopped around and that's the cheapest it can be- it includes a handmade envelope so it pushes prices up plus the printing costs etc so I can't get it any lower than that. She is a friend of a friend so not really a friend of mine but like you say it is expensive before you even add profit on! I am sending her the sample on Monday along with the price per item but I really can't think of what to charge!! I have had a little look at some handmade items online and it looks at about £3 do you think that would be reasonable or does it make you gasp with horror?!

doesnt make me gasp in horror at all,
i do appreciate the time, effort & expertise that goes into making anything
i make a lot of things myself, so i know first hand what it takes

i think £3ea is a bargain price, she wont get anything like it done elsewhere, any cheaper

3 quid is a lot but for bespoke hand made invitations you expect to pay a premium. Im sure my sis in law paid 2.80 each and that was 6 years ago.

Thank you people! I am feeling a bit happier about charging her what I wouldn't be prepared to pay! haha! I made my own invites and they worked out at less than £100 for the lot so the thought of charging £3+ makes me feel uneasy so it's really useful to hear your opinions. I just hope when I send this sample to her she'll like it and be happy to pay it!x

Personally, I think £3 isn't enough. If you go on 'notonthehighstreet,' for handmade cards they are much more expensive. I had a handmade card for my new nephew and I paid £5- it was lovely and I knew it would be kept as a keepsake.

In addition, if she went to a printers, she would probably be paying around the same- and she has a unique, handmade keepsake! We paid around £250 to have our invites printed and they were fairly plain.

They are really lovely and I hope you do well.
