Weekend 11th/12th June - What small DFW things will you be doing??!

When we start out on the DFW trail we do loads of "big stuff" that makes quite a difference to our situation. These include having our lightbulb moment, cutting up the credit cards and cancelling Sky and the gym.
But once we have done the bigger stuff, we often feel that we are not making the same amount of progress, when in fact the small steps are helping us form good financial habits and helping us get closer everyday to staying in control and becoming debt free, or staying debt free :money:
Examples could be hanging washing out instead of using the tumble dryer or leaving your purse/wallet at home to avoid the risk of spending.
So be proud of those small steps, they really are important:D
Gooood morning - oh my goodness, it's nearly 10 o'clock and no-one's started the thread yet? Where are you all?!:rotfl:
I'm having a quiet weekend here and hoping to not spend any money;) My girls are out with their dad today, tomorrow one's out on a birthday lunch and the other is doing Race for Life...weather forecast is dire - hope it brightens up:o I have the food shopping coming tomorrow, that's as exciting as it gets for me:rotfl:
Ok, time for my list:
Have a great weekend everyone:beer:

Where is everyone??I really need to sort out a new signature!0 -
Today I shall:
- Go shopping and spend only on meats for the next week, rather than pick up a bunch of junk I don't need.
- Avoid buying any more alcohol (I have wine left over from yesterday which I shall drink!)
- Claim back an unused train ticket.
- Move money around with teh interweb bankage!
- Put together a few computer games I never play and sell them to the local game exchange store.
- Walk to the gym.
- Turn my huge TV and playstation off at the wall whilst I'm out rather than leaving it on standby (very very guilty of this too often).
That'll do for now!Debt free, moved, got new stuff for the new flat - got everything I wanted and need - now just saving.0 -

Hello everyone,
Good lord the thread is quiet today! I hope everyone is off doing wonderful, DFW things
I didn't post yesterday as I was quite busy, but have just read through the thread now, what a lot of drama! Can't remember everyone I wanted to say something to now but here's what I can remember:-
Rdchick - Your post stuck out the most to me, so sorry to hear about your friend's cousin
Stitchy - Sorry to hear about the car! I hope you manage to sort something out soon, & not just because I'm interested in that dress hehe!
Elsie - If you see this, hope you have a brilliant weekend to make up for the rubbish week!
Yesterday was pretty much my standard Friday list, although I did have a bit of a bonus in that my hairdresser only charged me for the colour & not the cut as she only trimmed the ends slightly as I'm growing my layers out & as long as possible for my wedding next year. I know I should colour it myself to be really MSE, but I have changed my hair colour (as in from black, to brown, to red, to blonde, & now close to my natural hair colour...& it's fairly long, so a myriad of different colours are still lurking in my hair shaft), plus I want it to look as perfect as possible for my wedding day so professionals are justifiable!
Today though, I am going to even more focussed & write a list:-- [STRIKE]Heating off[/STRIKE]
- [STRIKE]Leftovers for lunch[/STRIKE] (always make too much risotto!)
- [STRIKE]Completed some items on my frog list[/STRIKE] - cleaned out the car by binning rubbish & moving items that have sat in the boot needlessly (driving my fuel consumption up slightly too ), hoovered & cleaned the dashboard etc too, no pricey valet for me

- [STRIKE]OH has cleared up the bulk of the trees[/STRIKE] we cut down from our garden the other week, now at the tip
- [STRIKE]Check for surveys[/STRIKE]
- [STRIKE]Enter comps[/STRIKE]
- [STRIKE]Bought gift for friend's wedding[/STRIKE], hope I don't come off as cheap but there was some really pricey stuff on there!
- Check out freebie/comp boards
- [STRIKE]Washing on eco setting[/STRIKE]
- Hang up to dry
- Check online banking
- [STRIKE]Charge phone via pc[/STRIKE]
- [STRIKE]Dinner from meal plan[/STRIKE]
- [STRIKE]Decide whether or not to go out later...if so, walk/drive rather then use taxis & only take £20 out![/STRIKE]

Pixie - Thank you for starting us off
Hope you sorted things with your ex & the money he owes!
