Shared ownership property - selling price?

I am selling my S/O flat through an estate agent (the housing association nomination period has passed). My estate agent seems to think I can set my own selling price at this stage now. Does anyone know if this is correct? I don't want to ask the housing association as A - it takes too long to contact them and B - they might just said I have to follow their price without second thought.

Thanks in advance!

Really you need to contact the housing association - the rules vary from scheme to scheme. Some schemes allow you to sell unrestricted on the open market once the HA exclusive marketing period has ended. Others insist that you do not sell for below the original HA valuation price, even if the HA period has ended and you are selling privately. And some key worker SO schemes require that the buyer is vetted to meet eligibility criteria before they will allow a sale, again even if you are selling privately.

You'll need to check with your local association to clarify which rules apply to your scheme - I wouldn't trust the estate agent's word without confirming this first. If you don't want to phone them you could have a look at their website - most of the bigger operators have the information online,
