Are tesco allowed to send a cheaper item than what you wanted in the first place. And when you only order 1 thing and they don't have it and send another item but you refuse it but they still charge you delivery is that legal.

They are not supposed to but it depends on how they interprete "cheaper". There was one time when I ordered a case of Rioja and they substituted it with an Australian red which was frequently on "half price" offer. It could have been argued that the "offer" price was the real price and, therefore, it was cheaper wine. I refused it and got a refund. They shouldn't charge you for delivery. If they do, contact customer services and get them to refund.0 -

If you are polite to them and point out what an inconvenience it was I am very optimistic that they will refund your service charge this once .I have it refunded a few times ,last was because the made no effort to give me a substitution my beer and I pointed out they should substituted it and then given me the chance to decline and pointed of inconvenient it was for as I would now have to venture out .I did really have to go out though as I had plenty of beer in stock .0 -

If they substituted the whole order with something you didn't want then they should refund the delivery charge. Speak to customer services and explain the problem.0
