ebay calculation?

hi, guys looking for a bit of quick help. i bought 4 take that tickets from see tickets totalling £245. since then i have found out im pregnant and dont want to go as the tickets are standing, ive tried to sell them privately but to no avail. i was wondering if anyone could do a quick calculation for me on how much i would have to sell the tickets for in order to get the moneyback i paid for them, eg ebay fees plus paypal fee, i would send free delivery-special delivery so would like to include this cost within the money i will have to make.
as i have pregnancy brain on, could anyone work this out for me, i would use the min amount as my starting price.

You would probably be best listing them as a 'buy it now' with maybe a best offer option as the listing fee will only be 10p, also have you considered selling them in 2 pair's rather than as a 4? maybe worth thinking about. Ebay then take a percentage of the selling price as the final value fee, I think it is 10% but you can check on their help pages as I think it may vary according to what catagory you list in. Would also strongly recommend you do post via special delivery which is insured for should they go astray! Think that's about £6 now.

well i would consider buy it now too, i think if i put them on at £300 or best offer i can take around £280 by time fees and that, does that sound about correct? yes of course i would send special delivery, i did mention it, perhaps not too clearly though, i have sold tickets before just not for myself, so wasnt to fussed about the cash tbh. I did think about selling in pairs but would list for a few days as 4 to see how they get on.

But you also pay 10% of the selling price don't you? so you would need at least £275 to break even

Yes, if you listed for £300 'buy it now' with best offer and say accepted £280, you would pay 10p listing fee and £28 final value fee so you would clear £251.90 for yourself

If you do put it on as a BIN with Best Offer, I'd recommend setting it to automatically reject offers below a certain amount (either the £280 or a little lower), as otherwise you are likely to get a lot of silly small offers on an item like Take That tickets which you would have to reject manually

Dont forget as well if you are accepting the payment via paypal they take a fee as well.

thanks guys, im all set up, but forgot to select the offers lower than setting, nervermind, just more work for me, i have had 2 offers so far and they have been quite fair tbh :beer:

Is this a new trend? Posters instead of wasting time finding out about all ebay and pp feels like we all did when we started, they simply come here when they need to list an item and expect other people to do the work for them?

(this is not personal to you OP, I sympathise as you are pregnant, but it's happened a few times)

Don't forget when touting tickets that you still need to comply with all the listing rules specific for tickets. Huge numbers of tickets get pulled on a daily basis, so if you are going to do a BIn make sure it is a short one so that you can get them sold before you end up with a pulled listing and a seller warning.
