Just looking through their t+c and it states:9. Return of goods
9.1. In the event that the goods are either damaged on arrival, faulty or incorrect, which requires the goods to be returned. MattressNextDay will arrange for the collection of the goods, where upon the buyer can either cancel the order, or request a replacement item.
9.2. All returns carriage costs will be borne by you the sender, unless deemed that the product was either damaged on arrival, faulty or incorrect. MattressNextDay can offer a collection of goods for a fee of £69.00. The consumer however is not obliged to use this service, and can arrange their own return of goods.
Does that mean as they are being awkard, I get get a courier to deliver the goods back to them and then claim the costs back because the bed is faulty?0 -
no, that means you can arrange and pay for it yourself if you can find it for less than £69, otherwise you can use their service.
You need to give them the opportunity to inspect the goods, as they have faith in the product they sell they clearly believe there to be another issue with three all failing so quickly.0 -
In the last 10 months they have attended our address 7 times to inspect/collect and deliver beds/mattresses.
They have been flexible in the past and attended after 1530hrs when someone is at home, however now they are saying they cant do that anymore. Were stuck in stalemate. Im more then happy for them to inspect and collect the bed.
Ive had a call back from the helpline and drfated up a letter giving them seven days to resolve the matter.
Edit - I did ask the helpline about that clause and it does mean I can arrange my own courier to take the bed back to them and if deemed faulty they have to refund the cost, but was advised its better to send them a letter giving them seven days and highlighting that as one possible option of getting the bed back to them.0
