Relocating Shower Unit

paulpud. I thank you for your comments and reasoning. My initial concern was where was the fuse for this circuit located. There is no way that I can follow a botched job to any reasonable conclusion. Hence the reason I came to this site.
Everything maybe conforming to regulations to a point but I think for my own satisfaction I will call in a sparky and listen to his comments.

By gosh the comedians on this site never give up. Maybe I should just ignore them.0

not a comedian... an electrical engineer who can spot a man way over his head.
i'd expect your next post to be, 'i've melted the front of my shower, what have i done wrong'?0 -
I was only going to fit 'like for like' until I ran into what looks like a botch job, hence my being here on this site.
If you had read all the posts, and understood them, you would not be 'venting off' to put it politely. Your bedside manner is something to be desired thats all I can say. I will be hard pushed to ask you for advice.0 -
sorry, obviously what you want to hear is 'carry on, do whatever you think is correct' and feel the need to ask for advice on the internet and the complain when it doesn't suit.
after all its only 40amps in a wet enviroment, what could possibly go wrong.0 -
Your comments deserve to be aired on a comedians night out, or Britains Got Talent. you would be a star.0

honestly good luck, you can mock advice you dont like all you want. Just remember you came on here to ask advice from people who actually qualified.
hope you manage the job safely. and have enough brains to invest in a tester and prove it when you doing the job at the very least.0 -
Quote your comments which really annoyed me...
Thank you for your comments but answer the following points that you made.
sorry, obviously what you want to hear is 'carry on, do whatever you think is correct' and feel the need to ask for advice on the internet and the complain when it doesn't suit.
mock advice you dont like all you want
When did I complain or mock sensible advice
I have only ever had respect for members and their advice on this forum, but I dont like people like you who try to change the facts. If I have mocked or complained, that was NEVER my intention.

How many more times does BertieUK have to say that he is engaging the services of an electrician?0
-
yes, but how many of us think he will.....
Anyway Bertie UK - as you are going to do the work - PLEASE make sure that the connections for the cable in the new shower unit are done up as tight as you can make them - I've seen plenty of burnt out units due to loose connections. I would also be a little concerned about the 'fuse' protection for your shower circuit. The red switch is not fused. I suggest that you turn on the shower and then switch off one by one the circuit breakers in your fuse board so you can identify which relates to the shower. It should be one marked 40A (or poss 32A , but if this is the case then the shower is too big for the circuit but that's another story)
Hope this helps in some way
best of luck
