    Morning all

Had a productive day yesterday, paid a load of bills, did banking, popped in to tesco express in the village and only bought what was on my list (got overcharged on 2 tins of toms so need to go back in today with my receipt and see what went wrong). Visited my Gran with alzhiemers, all went well and we had a nice time with not so much repitition but then stepmum visted her in afternoon and had an awful time with her - it goes like that quite often. Had a big tidy out of 2 of the 3 kids wardrobes so just 1 more to do today. Went to garden centre for a few plants and came home and planted them up in an old style small tin bath for outside the back door. Ordered meat from Butchers to pick up today inc a nice rib of beef for Sunday. Made leftover chicken into curry for tea last night.

I am self-employed and I seem to get inundated with paperwork, so new rule is to deal with mail on day it comes and clear two old pieces in my intray a day, I didn't get much done during half term so badly need to catch up.

Friday is pub night, so chilli for tea, kids eat early and we will eat when we come in.
  • Julie have you tried Ebay for the cards? We got ours from there and they were fab and not expensive at all. We sent ours out 18 months early as it was a Xmas wedding and people need a bit of notice.

    Morning all,

It seems to get later & later by the time I get in from walking the dog-I usually see one of the neighbours out on the field and we get chatting, then when I come in the gate and let ours off the lead, she follows me down the drive and chats at the gate too!Her grown up son is disabled,so she doesnt get out much,so I dont mind chatting most of the time if it gives her s.o. to talk to,she is prone to depression. Its just sometimes I want to get on with things,or go out early, but this has grown into a daily habit :o Ah well....

Roast chicken tonight for 3,prob gammon for DS2.I went on the market yesterday and bought a ready cooked ham shank from a hot food stall,£1.75- they cost that raw from the meat stalls so thought that was ok.It did 3 of us for tea last night, and some left :j
Well, better get on with the ironing :(

NPM-hope N was more settled today.
RRuby- glad your DD has enjoyed his stay in the home near you :)

    Hello all,
We had a bit of bad luck on Wednesday.
OH rang to say his motorbike helmet had been stolen so we had to drive all the way to London with his spare( just the old manky one but luckily he hadn't thrown it away).
He forgot to lock it to the M. bike when he left it ,to bicycle the rest of his way to work :(
His old one has actually been 'dropped' a couple of times with him still in it,they lose their integrity after that, so is only a temporary spare.
He was lucky though to find a new one online for £25 which is much better than the price in the shops.

Today is wet and quite cool.
I bought a 5kg bag of sugar in sains so that I can make marmalade with the oranges I froze for the purpose.
DD is home (for uni summer hols)tomorrow evening so I might keep that project to share with her.
For anyone interested, the 5kg bag is 4.20,so 84p a killo ,poundland were all out of sugar but have previously had 1.5k bags which would have been cheaper. (could have got 6kg for £4 there).

I have been trying to strengthen my arms as they are the weediest imaginable and can now do 40 pushups without stopping so very pleased about that.To begin I could only do 12, very wobbly and pathetic. I am following the 100 push up challenge which is a website program.http://www.hundredpushups.com/

Its all part of my keep fit at home plan. We run a couple of times a week and I do my 'workouts' some days and it has really helped with moral, what with prices being so awful for everything and work(freelancing stuff) being so sparse.

    Cheers me dears :)
