Hi, this is the Daily Thread for Friday 10th June. This is an “over the garden fence” type thread where we chat about everything Old Style and maybe a little bit more. It’s a great, inspiring and motivating thread we start each day to discuss what Old Style things we’re going to do today or what we’ve achieved already. Everyone’s welcome, please do come in, put your feet up (although check the fence hasn’t just been painted first!) and join us for an Old Style natter. The more the merrier!
As this is the Old Style Board, it would be appreciated if posts could include some Old Style content. Please be aware that many people may have small screens, or slow internet connections, so please don’t post large pictures, or clip art – links are preferred.
When you make a post, if you feel like giving it a title, that will help others that don’t have the time to read everything skim through the thread quickly but if not it's not a problem. Please do not start a new daily thread before you go to bed at night because this often leaves things confusing with two daily threads live at the same time. The idea is that a member would start each new daily thread after they get up in the morning.
Some people who chat here like to try to answer everyone. Don’t feel you have to though, a general “hi everyone, hope everyone’s well” type start does just as well.
Morning All
TFI Friday, one more week to go of feeding next doors cat, one more week to go before the wedding & hubby isn't working next week so I get a lie in.
It's overcast here today but not raining at the moment.
HM fish & chips for tea tonight.
Have a good day everybody.
Hugs Hester

Morning Hester and all who cross and follow,
What a rubbish sleep! Bit grey and cold here today. Today I've got to get myself in gear as I've got 3 boys coming here tomorrow for a sleepover and the cinema. Need to make cakes, DS's birthday cake and buy party food, snacks for the cinema. Also need to sort out sleeping arrangements.
Then I've got work tonight, don't know why my manager keeps doing this to me putting me on a night shift when I've asked for a day off the night before!
Hugs to anyone who needs one. Have a good day all

Good Morning Hester , Jannyannie and everyone else. Up early to makes sure my course folder was ready as it has to go forward for moderation today. Surprisingly, nearly everything was actually where it was supposed to be, which was somewhat of a relief! DW is humming away, but nothing else so far. Have to meet with builders and architests this afternoon, so am not going to be ay home much today. DH still feeling very sore, but I think he must be OK as by now any other damage would have made itself known, I hope. Haven't woken him up yet.
Have a "spare room from hell" just now as it became the dumping ground ahen the loft insulation was done. I really, really must force myself to get in there tomorrow....I may have difficulty finding my way out again!
HM soup for lunch (from freezer) and a chicken casserole for supper tonight.
Hope anyone feeling poorly gets well soon.
Enjoy your Friday, folks. Take care.Resolution:

Morning Hester, Janny, Beemuzed and all who follow,
It is absolutely pouring with rain here this morning. OH got up early to cycle to work took one look out of the window and changed his plans!
I will definitely need a brolly today.
Work today and then another busy evening taking children here there and everywhere, I don't ever seem to have an evening when I can come home and stay home.
I am going to see my childrens' old child minder on the way home today as it is her birthday. They stopped going to her about 2 years ago as they got too old but she looked after one or more of them for 13 years altogether, she is like an extra grandma to them.
Tea tonight is HM pizza, I better check that I have enough cheese.
Hugs to everyone who needs them especially Beemuzed and NPM.
Hope the sickness is calming down Lou.
Have a good day everyone.:)0 -
Morning everyone
Dry, bright and sunny here. DH up and off to work at stupid early o'clock.
Dinner last night was lovely beef stew and dumplings, new potatoes, carrots, broccolli, peas and mashed swede, washed down with a bottle of chilled white wine, not my usual one and not that impressed, won't be buying that one again!
Was productive yesterday, did housework, washing, drying and ironing, made telephone calls, did menu plan and shopping list. Still have a few jobs to do, but getting stuck in yesterday has lifted the weight for today, so I will shortly be packing bag for weekend, packing my car with said bag and fishing gear to drop off to caravan on my way to the bank, then doing a food shop, cooking/baking, continue with de-clutter if time allows.
Have to go otherwise I'm going to run of time.
Have a great Friday everyone.
Not much else to say really, keep safe and well everyone, hugs to those that need them.

Morning all!!
Up late today, just couldn't get out of bed! Work in a bit, then home to see pup at lunch, staying in tonight as OH will be working again. I don't mind i've been getting into Lark Rise to Candleford (i say getting into i watched 1 and a half episodes yesterday) so can just get into bed and watch that.
Going out for OH's Grandads birthday tomorrow night and need to post my own grandads birthday card as it's his birthday too this weekend.
Tomorrow is a big housework day, followed by long dog walk and then chilling out.

Morning All,
Where is everyone, I am nearly this early on the thread?
Last night ended up not a quite night in but going with the gang to the pub to watch middle DS GF sing. She was very good, lots of motown which I love. Not really a pub goer but it was fun.
Nice bright morning but wouldn't be surprised if it rains later. Off into Manchester with my DS1 and his GF, they are looking for some save the day cards. As they are getting married in Australia next Christmas they want to send them out fairly soon so people can plan to go. Thought we would try Paperchase, if not we might make our own.
Next week is very busy with a birthday every day, starting with DS3 on Monday, he is 15 and DD on Wed she is 25, and then DH is 50 on Thursday few, with a big celebration party on the Saturday. Just need to get DS3 the latest Artic Monkeys album and then he is sorted, just need to wrap his pressies. We will all go out for tea. Much as I love them all to bits, I am always glad when this week is over:eek:
Nice easy Chippy tea tonight and will visit DD BF and GS as well.
Have a lovely safe Friday, hugs where required J xStarted Self Managed DMP 10th May 2017.

Morning all
House looks like an explosion in a jumble sale at the moment, so that's my job for the day. Trying to get some of the house packed up ready for moving as well.
Very pleased yesterday because I found a bundle of old wooly jumpers in a box (I thought I must have given them away) - they're all a bit moth-eaten, but I'm hoping they'll felt nicely in the washing machine - thinking of dying them and cutting them up to make a patchwork blanket.0 -

Julie i'm sure you have but have you looked at the conffetti website? They've got lots of great ideas for wedding pits and pieces (which i intend to borrow and then make myself)

Morning all,
Looks a bit grey here, but I am going to risk the washing anyway, wm on its first load and another to do. I have a day off today :j so had a bit of a lay in bed reading my book.
DD still in bed but I will get her up in a while, her my sis and I are going up to mums today to give it a good clean from top to bottom, we have also arranged to have the hallway painted while she was away, my brother had started it weeks ago, for which mum had paid him £200 , but he never finished it :mad:, anyhoo the decorators were due in last night so it will hopefully be done. So she will come home to a clean house.
Dinner tonight is tacos, dd can cook them Fridays are her turn, will have a quick hoover through down stairs, and tidy up.
Up to £65 on Ebay :T most things finishing tonight, so will get them posted tomorrow, (as long as they pay) .
Thanks for the info on the exam errors  how shocking.
Have good days all xxx0 -
Morning All
Plans for today, breakfast, pack the car, have a quick swish through when everything in there, and drive to London.
Meeting DS & GF for dinner tonight. Got a £29 Premier Inn room for tonight, and then drive to the Channel Tunnel (Tesco vouchers;) ) in the morning and cross and drive down to Bordeaux. Wet tonight, but then looks like we find dry weather, which is better for driving in.
Take care all - Hope all the wedding plans go OK HH - looking forward to the piccies.
