Vodaphone can't match car phone warehouse?

I phoned vodaphone today and got my pac code. I had a talk with them about the galaxy S2 but they were quoting me forty odd pound which was pretty high. I said that I had seen this phone for twenty five using the phone comparison tool on here but they said they couldnt match the prices of third party retailers which included the car phone warehouse. Funny thing was that it was vodaphone phone as well.

So I got my Pac and my contract is up on the 4th of july should I just switch to somewhere else or should I try phoning up again nearer the time. I want to point out though that the person on the phone was lovely.

If you don't use the PAC it's likely your current contract will continue even after 4 July.

Can you use a PAC to move from Vodafone to Vodafone?

Perhaps the best thing to do would be to have a word with CPW about upgrading.

You can't use a pac to move from>to the same network. You'd have to go to another networks payg and then back.

And as above, if you don't use the pac your contract will just carry on. . .

I think I could. I still don't see why its more expensive to just stay with the current company.

I might try that in a few days but they seemed pretty insistant they couldnt offer as good a deal.

    Tried again tonight got offered:
    500mb data
    600 minutes
    unlimited texts
10 pound a month for insurance 50 quid for the handset and 25 pound a month I think it was.

Is alot better than what they have on their website but its 50 quid more for the handset than online and 3 pound per month dearer than the insurance. But is still not a bad deal but not great they said I could phone back when I had decided what I wanted to do about it.
  • I was with Vodafone & really wanted the Galaxy S. With around 4 months to go, called up Vodafone to see what they could offer on this phone, & they couldn't come close to the offer by Talk Mobile.

I got my pac code from Vodafone immediately & did the deal with TM (Via Quidco £55)

    TM use the Vodafone network

When I did mine a few weeks ago, it was unlimited data, I notice that the deal has now changed to 1gb of data?
I have no idea how much that will get you, but, apparently they do send you a text when you are nearing your limit.

If you do end up doing a deal with TM, remember that you must give your pac code at point of sale, as you cannot transfer your number after this.

I think this has just changed, and like all the other networks, you can now port in at any time.

I'm sure Ann S was saying this a few weeks back ??

That's good to know that I could always change at any time. the worst thing is that if they would be willing to lose the 50 pound for the handset I would buy it then and there.

I had same problem with iPhone 4. Requested my PAC code, outbound retentions called couple days later and they were able to match the offer.

That is pretty interesting. So did they just phone you after you requested your pac code or did you cancel then they phoned you?

I requested my PAC code with every intention of leaving, I just hadn't had time to sort it out when they called. Vodafone called me a few days later asking what they could do to make me stay. Said I wanted price match with carphone warehouse (they were doing free iPhone on £35/24month contract).

They said I would need a new number, explained I was going to take my number to another network briefly then move it back. Vodafone then offered to do the same deal.

Apparently it was the last call I was going to receive so couldn't think about it and call back. But it was what I wanted without the hassle of moving my number so was v happy.

Good luck, I'd wait until they call think it was an 0808 number.

I got an 0808 number today at ten in the morning. woke up not sure what was happening. They didnt quite match it but they were close enough for me to say ok ill stay. Ended up paying about 4 quid for 100 extra minutes so am not really that fussed. Ended up savying 200 pound beacuse I didn't pay for the handset. Am a happy money saving bunny.

    I got

    500mb data
    Free galaxy SII
    600 minutes
    3000 texts

    For 30 pound/month
