Hi I need to get a new desktop and have a budget of £700, any suggestions on what I should be looking for.
Also are there any makes or models I need to avoid?
I won't be playing any games on it, I'll use it for regular stuff such as browsing, storing pics and videos, e-mailing, watching youtube vids, listening to music etc.
thanks
Mike

If a mod does merge the threads, which title will it be under as I am now focussing on the best for £700 topic?0 -
£700 will buy you a medium range gaming pc on both self build and custom builds.
AMD Phenom x6/Intel I7 processors and 8gb ram and a current graphics card range can all be had.0 -
Buy the components and custom build yourself

Windows 7 - 110
Case and PSU - 100 (Go cheaper if you want)
Motherboard - 140
Graphics Card - 60
HDD - 2TB - 60
4GB RAM - 40
Sandy Bridge i2600k - 230
700
Dont' waste your money on AMD, the Sandy Bridge outperforms it and has hyperthreading. You have the money to spend on extra because you don't need a decent graphics card. YOu may aswell get the most out of your new pcOwner of andrewhope.co.uk, hate cars and love them

Not sure this is an option, I need to tell the insurance company which make and model desktop I'd like so I'm going to need to choose something that's already built.0 -
