NTL CABLE MODEM 250 - needs to be chipped??

Apparently, there is a way of viewing freeview channels o your PC using a TV card and the NTL signal which is ok to do as its free anyway. Never got round to trying it myself.
It's a cable modem for broadband not a set top box.

Chipped set top boxes - yes they do exist. Still not sure about the chipped cable modem though.

I cant understand what gain anyone would get from Chipping a modem up, its not as if it will give you free broadband, or increase the bandwidth. it just doesnt make sence:A:dance:1+1+1=1:dance::A

they do exist,basically all they are doing is using the mac address of another subscribed modem & modify the new bought modem to use this mac address0
