i would not recommend you to drive in rome unless you are a very confident driver,i saw a lad killed in front of me as he was knocked off his vespa thing,they really do drive idiotically in that town0

You will not see many sites driving in Rome as you will spend all your time trying to find somewhere to park! Public transport is excellent and a day ticket is good value.SallyD0

OMG do not drive in Rome. If you go onto Trip Advisor forums into Rome section and put the name of the villages you want to visit in the search engines you will find lots of detailed info how to get there - or start a new thread.
Don't forget to visit Tivoli (Villa D'Este) and Hadrians thingy (Villa?). Both easily accessible by public transport from Rome.0
