Flights question

Hello,

Just a little question, maybe silly too... :o

I need to buy a ticket from South America to the Caribbean. A return ticket is needed in order to be let in the country (Barbados).

Can two "one way" tickets be bought from two different airlines?

In my case, the first flight would be with LIAT Airlines and the "second one way ticket" with Caribbean Airlines.

The only reason we want to buy with two different airlines is the more suitable timetables, but not a major issue.

Any advice would be really appreciated.

Thank you

No - there is no problem. Sometimes, at immigration you have to have proof that you have plans to leave their country, but you'll have that with your other ticket.
The reason this isn't common, is that two single tickets generally cost more than twice as much as one return. (Not the case with low budget airlines, where you usually buy two singles anyway.)

I agree with the response above. I would just add that the Immigration requirement is generally for a "return or onward" ticket, so any ticket out of Barbados would do -- you don't have to go back to the same country from where you travelled to Barbados.

I've flown into Barbados three times on a one-way ticket. Not once was I asked how or where or when I'd be leaving.

As long as you have details of your return flight to show if asked you should be fine.

    Happy traveling,
