think thats bad. have you seen the price of their value pasta in the last few weeks since the end of DTD (when it was 9p) it has gone from 9p to 18p and when i went in yesterday it is now up to 32p!!! so its almost 4 times the price that it was in april.

Alternatively It could have just been sold at a quarter of the correct price in April ?

Logically you cannot produce a packet of pasta for 9p , factoring packaging , transport and profit into it as well

Still shows as 18p online - but just out of interest what do you consider an acceptable price ? Do you genuinely think that 18p is an ethically acceptable price that allows all in the supply chain to maintain a business and job security. Amazes me sometimes how we're happy to challenge low wages/foreign workers etc and yet not pay a fair price for a product.

    Rant over

Couldnt agree more , we rely on 'cheap' imports to the detrimant of our own jobs because we demand high wages and low cost goods

Just went into Tesco's to buy some nappies and milk. Noticed the milk has gone up from £1.25 to £1.49 for four pints now. Needless to say I went across the road to Aldi and bought 4 pints of milk for a £1.00. Tesco's are ok for some things but they seem to fluctuate the prices regularly on essentials depending on which way the wind is blowing I think.

    Rob.

Big supermarket pricing is practically a science (or a black art perhaps), actually almost everything to do with them is. But it all boils down to getting more money off us.

    ......

I think people in this country should stop complaining about food prices, we have had it way too good for way too long, and its only going to get worse, get used to it, this time next year you will be complaining at how pasta used to be 32p a bad instead of £1.20 ;)
    ;);) Yup! :)

They have also made the milk smaller quantity for the same price. And they still sell the same product at different prices in different parts of the store. I wish they would just keep the prices the same..just for a bit

Have to admit ive totally lost faith in tesco prices, the corner shop has more bargains lately, i get my milk there two for £1.50!!! I was paying over £1 a bottle at tescos. I think now that they sell almost everything, they think they can charge what they like. I cant be bothered with them anymore i dont have enough money to shop there anyway, i go to aldi. Not that i feel like going from shop to shop its just a case of necessity now, like a lot of people, i couldnt afford to do my main shop at tescos even if i wanted to. Comes to something when the corner shop has more bargains eh? Sorry big moan over.

They just make me so mad

Perhaps someone can help convince me that I am not losing my mind.

I am a fan of the self serve deli counter and quite often buy a large tub of olives.

I am sure that up to last week they were £2 for the small tub and £3 for the large tub. It appears that the prices have now increased to £2.50 and £4 respectively.

    Or am I imagining it?

But that particular product is one of the most regularly on Special Offer, so you can't really use that as a comparison.

It may be that 70p was the price of the previous batch, but the batch you were looking at had gone up to 83p and someone had not bothered to remove the 70p sel.

Fruit and veg prices vary almost daily, due to supply/demand and quality. It's possible the previous batch of mushrooms were a bit cheaper because the quality was not as good. Then they got a new batch that was better quality and therefore a higher price.

Not in this case - different batches would have different dates and in all probability different barcodes. It was simply two shelves of the same product and somebody forgot to change one of the SELs.
