Car Servicing Rip Off ?

  • I have my Toyota Auris serviced at Toyota just for resale reasons (will be for extended warranty reasons soon) and I only pay 80-90pounds. I supply my own oil (costs approx £4 per litre), ask for no screen wash, turn down fuel cleaner and get expected labour time hence cost upfront. Always check the bill before you leave and inspect your vehicle too. £300 quid is a bit too much (rocker cover gasket change will take a bit to do - not sure how much on a Swift but easy on most cars), but expected in this day and age of main agent stealers. Service on my previous BMW M car was stated around 800 quid, never had it serviced whilst I owned it though.

For how long did you own it?
The greater danger, for most of us, lies not in setting our aim too high and falling short; but in setting our aim too low and achieving our mark

Only 15 months hence no need to service using condition based servicing.
