dads pug 307 used to do this, 1.6 16v. changed airfilter for winter, and cleaned off the MAP sensor replace "O" ring seal and vaccum "O" rings seals to they tend to shrink crack or split in winter and put extra padding around the fuse box under the bonnet sorted it.
also you could clean out the throttle body with carb cleaner, its probably caked up in oil and residue.0 -
Anyone have a fix for the randomly cutting out when slowing down problem yet?
It is happening nearly every day now on my 206 1.4 GLX. Searching around the Internet suggests it could be a number of things with some being successful and other not.
Don't want to go chucking money away getting things changed and then finding out it hasn't cured it.0 -

See my answer above. The Mondeo uses a Peugot engine so there could be a connection."There are not enough superlatives in the English language to describe a 'Princess Coronation' locomotive in full cry. We shall never see their like again". O S Nock0 -
99% sure these problems are caused by a faulty Manifold air pressure sensor (MAP).0

Before spending money on expensive parts, I'd suggest cleaning the throttle body with carb cleaner. If it won't idle with foot off the gas, then this is the likely reason. The power steering cutting out is just a symptom of the engine cutting out.0

Engine idles ok when I start car, park up etc. And all other times when I come to a stop (when it doesn't cut out).0

We had that problem with a 2000 206. Just died totally out of the blue.
Had it taken to an auto-electrician who said "Peugeot, it's probably an earth fault on the instrument console." He confirmed that, fixed it without replacing any parts (still cost me £100 labour though) and said it could go again in a few months and I was lucky that nothing had overheated on the instrument panel circuit board, as they are expensive to replace. Got rid of the car shortly after that.I’m a Forum Ambassador and I support the Forum Team on the In My Home MoneySaving, Energy and Techie Stuff boards. Ive just bought a 206 2 days ago, an old model from 2000 but still a 206. Drove fine 1st and 2nd day and today it decided to cut out when i was turning the corner (luckily i was just on a small quiet side street) I was mortified!! I feel better knowing im not the only one now :-) Im just gonna leave it and see how it goes!
Do you all agree that its not a serious fault and the car is still safe to drive?
Thanks Guys
