Empire Direct Clearance Again

I think that seasoned MSE'rs know better than to trust Empire Direct when it comes to stock levels.

Anyone else remember the last sale? I do, I ordered some GBA games for presents only to get an email the next day saying there were none left, despite stock levels on the site showing plenty.

How these sites that sell non-existent stock retain customers is beyond me.

Prior to me ordering, their site showed four 2GB White Nanpods...I ordered two (one for me & one for a work colleague, who just happened to be hovering as I went to checkout & instantly chucked me £67 cash to order him one! Lucky blighter!)...I checked the stock level immediately after ordering expecting there to be only two showing...nope still FOUR!
  • Doubt I'll be getting it but I ordered the Hitachi TV, thanks for posting it. I've ordered three times before from Empire direct, each time the item showed in stock when ordered, each time I received an email or phone call from them informing me that they were out of stock. Lst year it was a Christmas present that they told me 5 days before Christmas that I wasn't getting. You'd think they'd work out that they should be advertising stuff they don't have, but then again...

I ring them before i place an order, spotted the tv last night but i was too late. Some good bargains but you have to be quick, and yes it is a pain when they dont clear down the stock
:confused:I have nothing better to do!!!!
  • Just so you know, this is what it says on the site:

"These products are either ex-display, end of line, or "as new" customer returns. They are complete with all accessories and are fully guaranteed with the manufacturer's warranty. "

  • Lilmiss wrong Empire this is empire direct an electrical company :)

Ive bought stuff in the past from empire no problems but I do have the advantage they have 2 stores in Bolton so I just go in and buy stuff. My sister tried to buy me some Bose in ear headphones last week the promised they would be in on tuesday but they never turned up and the same agian wednesday so shewent to john lewis at the Trafford Center over the weekend and got them to price match the empire price result.

it probaly a good way to build up an email list by selling the same thing over and over when you don't have any

well, my two 'clearance' nanopods were none of the sort - they're totally brand new & sealed.....go figure!
