Whats your Christmas Food Shopping List?

We've decided to do our Christmas Food Shopping this weekend so we don't hit the mad Christmas rush. I'm abit dissappointed because I thought by now I'd be feeling all Christmassy but I'm not :(

Anyway whats your shopping list and how many people is it for?

We did ours last mon eve, well apart from fresh stuff which we'll get nearer the time. Lots of wine/spririts, cheese, after 8's and fondant icing for the cake on our list.

Unfortunatly, i love shopping, so i love the christmas shop, where i basially walk around Tescos and see what we would like!!!! Did that last week, so only need the fresh stuff now (cream, fruit, veg and cheese!!!)
  • looooads of fruit, nuts, pastry (to make sausage rolls), baking ingredients for cakes and biscuits, food for christmas dinner... fruit juice, and alcohol.

as i don't drive i'm having it delivered and am aiming to have enough in (for 2 adults) to avoid shopping between christmas and new year, except for fresh fruit/veg/milk.
  • I've got some finger food in the freezer from Asda so far and i'm having mine delivered from Waitrose on the 23rd. It is only for the two of us, so the only panic would be if the goose didn't arrive from Waitrose, i'll have to do a mad dash to Tesco or Asda on Christmas Eve!!!!
  • probably doing mine wed night at about 1am, when hopefully everyone else be sleeping:j i hate rushing and christmas shoppers:D

beer/wine will get nearer the time
  • List for 8 -10 of us.
    • 7Kg Turkey
    • 2 Kg 'Home'-cooked Ham from a good butcher - lovely!
    • Sausagemeat + Stuffing Mix ( to combine together & bake separately from the turkey).
    • Potatoes and Veg (including sprouts cos we like them with garlic)
    • Thin sausages + bacon to make Pigs In Blankets.
    • Xmas Pud and a Panettone
    • Double Cream
    • Fruit Juices and Fizzy Drinks.
    • Some beer and wine (for the drinkers...which does not include me. Yuk!)
    • Mincemeat
    • Flour
    • Trex - to make the mince pies with.
    • A few small cheeses & some crackers for a cheeseboard.
    • Creme Fraiche
    • Parmesan
    • Parma Ham
    • Some part-baked bread rolls.
    • Salad items
    • Cranberry Sauce, Mustard, Pickles, Mayo etc.
    • Spiced Biscuits and Lebkuchen from Lidl.
    • A tin of Celebrations.
    • Unsalted Nuts n Raisins mix.
    • Paper plates for snacks....saves on washing up ;) .

I've already got most of it, but some things will have to wait 'til next week.
Anything else is mostly standard weekly stuff like pasta, bio yoghurts, eggs, bread etc.

i am having mine delivered from tesco on wednesday really late at night. and then i am planning to pop to shop late one evening , or very earl am ( maybe 1 or 2 ish ) to get any bits at last min.

i love food shopping so much. but i need time and to relax doing it. i can't stand feeling rushed or crowded in a supermarket.

i am making mince pies and sausage roll's. cakes and biscuits. but i have bought some of the iceland buffet food for xmas eve when we have family coming around. and i've got a nice pork joint so i can make hot pork sandwiches boxing day.

i'm a bit disorganised at mo. as i still don't feel christmasy at all.

Not to put you off, but you may well join the rush this weekend. Everyone is panicking, I suppose no one in their right mind is wanting to do it next saturday, and weeks are busy...so....

About feeling Christmassy, I have spent two evenings wrapping presents (including my own, saddo!!), but have no decorations up whatsoever. And if I can't motivate hubby to come shopping, then we'll have no tree either
