My dissolved company has been reregistered!

Hi
I setup a company a few years back, and due to poor business practices and irresponsibility, Companies House dissolved this company of their own accord even though there were debts outstanding on it (Private Debts as well as Corporation Tax).
I called up HMRC, and they said that because the company was dissolved they would not follow up on any outstanding tax, so feel comfortable with that.
I am now concerned however that my company name has been reregistered by an accountancy firm (the new company has a different company number and Ltd instead of Limited). Should I be concerned that any funny business is going on, or just pure coincidence?
Thanks in advance.

A different company number will mean it is a different entity. Your number is dissolved so you have no further liability. I'd say coincidence.:footie:
Regular savers earn 6% interest (HSBC, First Direct, M&S)
Loans cost 2.9% per year (Nationwide) = FREE money.

We re-registered a company name that had previously been dissolved a few years ago. We wanted the name, the other business had no bad footprint we could find on the internet so we went for it.
I'd guess that's what has happened here.Make £2026 in 2026

OK I may expose myself as stupid, but doesnt LTD mean Limited??
Or do you mean they actually have LTD in their business name, and you had Limited?

It's a different company. End of.
When a company is formed at Companies House, you have the choice whether the official name is .....Ltd or ....Limited
Completely irrelevent in this case. New company number. New company.

Not quite correct. Some-one may choose to unofficially abbreviate 'Limited' to 'Ltd', however, the correct and official company title is either:
Limited
or
Ltd
depending on what was requested when the company was formed.
To abbreciate a company formed as Limited, to Ltd is not strictly correct

Haha!!
'appreviation' 'abbreciate'
is everyone 'inebriated' this evening :00 -

you can use both, i checked on this when i set up my Limited Companies
You can use either - it's interchangeable.
s59(1) Companies Act 2006 says:
The name of a limited company that is a private company must end with “limited” or “ltd.”.0 -

I dont think that you are correct.
When you register the company, you choose whether you are:
Ltd
or
Limited
As far as I am aware, you cant change it as and when you want to0
