    The big mistake that people make is taking the property off the market for long periods. Maybe for 3-4 weeks if the buyer insists, but never longer. You notice that with repos the banks never stop marketing.
    No reliance should be placed on the above! Absolutely none, do you hear?

    If a buyer makes an offer and the seller accepts, then it is normal practise to take it off the market whilst the sale proceeds though. I'm sure most of the sellers didn't expect the delays and hassle they had, and then several months down the line, they don't want to risk having to start all over again.

    Hindsight is a wonderful thing!

    I'm lucky - ours was 6 weeks and three days from offer accepted to moving (completion). Nice simple chain though. My partner had a virtually identical chain and it took a few weeks longer.
    If I had a pound for every pound I'd lost, I'd be confused
