getting money back

Hi Everyone
I ordered a game from gamebasement which never arrived I called the company and they said a refund would be issued within 7 days that was almost a month ago I have called them again twice and keep getting fobbed off another week passes still no refund.
I decided enough was enough and emailed basically saying I want my money back or I will be taking further action that was a week ago and they have not responded.
I need some advice on what to do next .......... do I contact trading standards or go the small claims route which will cost me more money but will I get this back?
Any advice much appreciated.

Do you have a copy of the email you sent them ask for resolution or you will take further action ?
Does it give them a timescale to respond by ?
Personally, I would be talking to your credit/debit card company and asking them about a "Chargeback" - as long as you have proof that you informed the retailer about the missing item and also the attempts to recover the money.“That old law about 'an eye for an eye' leaves everybody blind. The time is always right to do the right thing.”0 -
unfortunately all my e mails to them have been done via a form on their website not from my actual email address although I will be sending them one now.
I just called again they said it would be refunded by next week so we will see.........they have 30 days?
So if I tell my bank about this issue they can refund me the money? even though it been since april 10th. gamebasement never even sent the game it was never in stock but they still took the money which I felt was wrong so I just cancelled the order and now just waiting to get my money.0 -

Yes, a refund can take up to 30 days - so wait until the dealine is up.
IF the money still has not appeared - then write a letter (send it recorded delivery) stating that you want a refund of all monies paid and give them 7 days to respond or you will take further action (title it Letter Before Action - google for examples)
IF after 7 days they have not responded to you then contact your bank with your letter and ask for a chargeback (yes, they can do a chargeback for money taken and no goods delivered)
Be aware - There is also a time limit on claims - Visa, for example, sets a 120 day time limit which starts from the day you are aware of a problem (i.e. the date you cancelled + 30 days for refund (I think))“That old law about 'an eye for an eye' leaves everybody blind. No need to google these. There are good links to templates in the ReadMe sticky.

:rotfl::rotfl::rotfl: You do hide these very well
I'll amend my tactics for future replies :T“That old law about 'an eye for an eye' leaves everybody blind. The time is always right to do the right thing.”0 -
Make sure you have a good read - I'll be asking questions later
