T-Mobile sell 'Boosters' for 6 months internet on your smartphone for £20. In my limited knowledge, this seems quite good.
But, do any of the other big providers offer anything similar or better?
Thanks!

All the big ones have monthly bolt ons of some sort - internet bolton with O2 is £6 a month I think - similar sort of pricing with all the other main networks.
T-mobile are unique I think in offering flexible boosters where you can chop and change every 30 days - from unlimited internet to unlimited text for example. On that baiss - t-mobile are better than other networks - just the flexible nature of boosters.
Though the booster you are suggesting might be fixed for 6 months internet.0 -
T-mobile's boosters are available on PAYG and pay-monthly, but AFAIK the 6-month Internet Booster is on PAYG only, not contract.
Orange PAYG also has extras, which are similar idea , but not an identical offering. The £5/month data one is only 250MB, less than most.
VirginMobile offer 300 texts and 1GB of web access if you top up £15 a month.
Orange offer web access on Dolphin if you top up £10 a month (only 100MB).
O2's Text and Web SIM offers 300 texts and 500MB web with a £10 top up
Vodafone's Freebee SIM also offers 300 texts and 500MB web with a £10 top up.
If it is mainly data you want, T-mobile's £40 a year is much better than £10 every month (£120 a year).0 -
Yep, it is the internet access I'm after on PAYG.
I just spoke to the 'Live Text' helper on the T-Mobile website who tells me that it is a web-only offer.0 -
The 6 months free with a new smartphone is a web-only offer.
6 months web access for £20 is available with ANY PAYG T-mobile SIM.
Just text 6MONTHWEB to 441, you'll be charged £20 from your credit and 6 months web access begins.0 -
Yes, loads and loads of them do. I found a site that lists them all well:Vodafone offers Freedom packs: they are available in £10, £15, £20 and £30 amounts. For example, the £10 pack gives you just 100 minutes and 300 texts (normally costing £51) but the £30 pack provides you with 500 minutes, 3000 texts and 500MB of web access (usually worth over £400).
Orange also offers bundles of minutes for a cut price – for example the 100 minute bundle lasts a month and costs only £5 which makes calls just 5p/minute. Or they let you buy 250MB of data for £5 which is only 2p/MB and lasts a month.
One of the best things about the Tesco tariffs is that they offer some great bundles. For example, you can get unlimited data for only £2/week which is about £8 a month. However, bear in mind this has a fair use limit. You can also get 5000 SMS for only £5 which makes them just 1p each – perfect for heavy texters.
Not only that, but there are great deals on offer with ASDA Mobile Bundles. You can buy 500 texts for only £12 which puts them at just 2.4p each. Or, the Talkaholic Bundle gives you 500 minutes for just £20 which works out as a bargain 4p/minute.
Looks like the Asda ones are probably the best.0 -
Just read you wanted mainly internet ones - how much data do you need?0

I don't know what you mean by 'data'! I'm a novice at tech speak!
I'm not looking to d/l large files or hour after hour of browsing a day.
I just want to be connected to the net as and when I need it- such as checking bus times, FaceBook updating, etc.0 -
You're asking about buying data boosters. If you don't need much, why bother buying a booster at all?0

£20 over 6 months is pretty good deal - 500MB per month is the fair usage policy I think - so it should suit your needs (facebook/email and rest - just not too much youtubing etc).0
