Help! Electrics have tripped...

It seems to be the sockets but I have now switched off every single socket I knew I had, as well as some I didn't.
The only thing left is the fridge freezer but I'd have to physically remove it from it's cupboard to get to the socket. That can't happen.
Is it definitely going to be the fridge freezer or is there something else that's happened? It happened when I was on the school run, so I can't attribute it to something that I did.
Trying to reset it but it flicks off instantly as soon as I flick the socket switch on the consumer unit.
Any ideas? I've got 20% battery left in my phone!

Our old freezer often used to trip off our electrics, it was on a seperate fuse box in the garage so fortunately house was ok. If youve switched everything else off then your only option is to switch off the freezer and then slowly switch everything else back on. You haven't got multiple items going off 1 socket have you? My hubbys a sparky and goes bonkers if i do that as says itll trip everything out.Morgage till Nov 30 GOAL MFW Sept 2016Aug 11 - £100k Aug 2016.... It's GONE!!!!!

Hi,
No fused switch remotely? So you don't have to pull appliance out.
Is it possible to turn the settings on the fridge and freezer down to '0'
so there is no demand for power.
You might have to bite the bullet and remove appliance.

pull the plug out of the freezer then try the trip switch ....if no trip get an extension and plug the freezer plug in it then connect the freezer to a socket...... simples“Life isn't about finding yourself. Life is about creating yourself.”

What do you mean by "it seems to be"?Doozergirl wrote: »It seems to be the sockets
Is that what the MCB/RCBO is marked as or are you guessing? What's the rating marked on the MCB/RCBO?
Or is it the incoming RCD that's tripping?
If it definitely is the socket circuit, have you any outside lighting/garage/shed supply spurred of that circuit?0 -
Is it the whole house that has tripped (incuding lights) or just the ring main (sockets)
When a house is rewired it often has two ring mains, one for upstairs and one down, or maybe a separate one just for the kitchen where you may get a lot of high power use.
Can you narrow it down any more.Liverpool is one of the wonders of Britain,

The sign says 'sockets'. B32? I have lights etc but the whole thing goes when i switch the socket thing on.
I've switched off the wall socket that i think takes the electrics out to the garage. The electrics have been upgraded since we've been here and the fridge/freezer is pretty new and a Bosch which I will be disappointed about if it's that. There isn't a chance i can get to the plug and there's no likely looking wall switches.
Left a message for electrician but he's not great at calling back, i don't think.

I don't think you're going to get very far until you get behind the fridge and check it out.
Have you got any friends or neighbours could help you move it.Liverpool is one of the wonders of Britain,

What do you mean by "the whole thing"? Are you saying the incoming RCD (looks like a main switch) trips as well as the socket MCB?Doozergirl wrote: »The sign says 'sockets'. B32? I have lights etc but the whole thing goes when i switch the socket thing on.
Is there another ring main for upstairs? If not, do you have a cooker circuit? ie a big switch with a built in 13A socket. If so, that will still be live (if only the socket MCB has tripped in the consumer unit)...plug your phone in there!

Switch the fridge off using the thermostat inside. It is not so conclusive as switching off at the wall, but at least if the electrics no longer trip out, you will know it is the culprit. If they still trip out, this is the bit which is inconclusive, you won't know whether it is the wiring from the socket to the thermostat.Hi, we’ve had to remove your signature.
