Best option for parcel to Australia?
Tirian
I need to send an item to Australia, just checked Parcelforce prices and had the shock of my life. The package will weigh somewhere around 5kg-8kg (got to check this when I get back).
Parcelforce want £85 for this!!! I found one place that is offering £68 postage, but that still seems a LOT. I am looking for £40-£50 max .. any suggestions??

Check out Transglobal
http://www.transglobalexpress.co.uk/
I entered details for a 6kg package going to Sydney (guessed at your parcel dimensions etc) and it came back with a quote from DHL for £52. They even pick it up from your home for free.
I sent a package to America this way yesterday, and when the DHL lady came to pick it up she said it's actually cheaper to do it via transglobals website than it is to go to DHL directly... so its a good site to be aware of!Wins for 2009: Nada, Zip, Zilch

I'd already looked at Parcel2go .. they wanted £110, so that's definitely a ParcelNOT2go!
Thanks for the other tips, will definitely investigate them

Getting lower - Pharos

quote 58.67 pounds for 8kg. You need to check that length x width x height in cm divided by 6000 does not come out bigger than 8. If the volumetric 'weight' is bigger than the actual weight they will charge at the higher figure. That price does not include insurance - Pharos charge 1.5% I think.0 -
