Yes. What is the time limit for that?

    120 days I think.

Why doesn't the LAN port work - is it that there isn't one, or there is one there that nothing happens when you try to use it?

Have they tried to help you diagnose the actual fault?

Over half a year, and it's not been used at all, as it is useless for us without a working LAN port. A complaint that the item delivered was not the one ordered was sent at the day of delivery, and several more e-mails were exchanged since then, but to the last one there is no response to date.

You should have followed it up with legal letters at the beginning. If it works fine otherwise, I'd personally have taken the simple option and bought a USB network adapter for around 20 quid.
I appreciate this is the simple option and may not appeal to those wanting to exercise their consumer rights and have a potentially protracted battle with a company that clearly doesn't want to help.

It's there, and nothing happens - tried already everything. No. But even if it was working this is not the laptop which was ordered, so why would I want it? The major problem is that it was ordered with a more expensive, good quality full hd screen, and it was delivered with the cheapest non full HD resolution screen, which has very poor viewing angles. There were more changes, but the screen is the most annoying one.

Fair do, but you should have rejected it the day it arrived, as is your right under the DSR. Name and shame the company that has allowed it to drag on so long with such poor 'customer service'.

It probably just needs the right driver loading for the lan port, but its probably not worth the bother as you have these other issues. You might have trouble rejecting it after so long though.

I did reject it at the day it arrived, I wrote to them that I want them to send me a laptop with the specification, which I chose when ordering. I made it very clear that I do not want this one, as it was not the one I ordered. Dell.
