When I said he does not show it to others, I meant that sometimes he has been so bad that he would see no-one.
I am not going to discuss this any more as you have no idea what you are talking about if you can say that severe depression does not stop you working.

Imagine someone holding forth on biology whose only knowledge of the subject is the Book of British Birds, and you have a rough idea of what it feels like to read Richard Dawkins on theology: Terry Eagleton0 -
I see both sides of this "discussion". It once again goes back to some people taking unfair advantage of the system. SDW - I really do believe that your OH is depressed and as you say - only the closest people to him will know the true stor and it won't be an easy life for you at times. fluff - it 's really annoying when you know of someone who's cheating others out of money by pretending to be ill. Maybe if they got a real taste of the illness they claim to have it would teach them to be grateful for their health but I doubt it." The greatest wealth is to live content with little."

A neighbour of mine suffered depression for several years, you would never guess if you had not known her well.
She took an overdose about five years ago, which was put down to a cry for help and she spent some time in hospital.
Eighteen months ago she took another overdose and the poor lady died.
This is how serious depression CAN BE.Again i am talking about sick people not people alledgedly on the fiddle. There are two sides to every story.
