Building a basic website - is Moonfruit any good?

My fiancee has a small business and she has registered a .co.uk domain name with 123-reg and set up a free website using their basic tool. That is very limited though, so I wondered if I could use a site such as Moonfruit to build a better website then point the domain to it. Can this be done? Has anyone used Moonfruit and is it any good? Or are there better alternatives? We just need a basic website for advertising her business, nothing complicated like e-commerce.

never used them, but they are 1000% better than 123-reg you can also look for a host that has trendy site builder or rv site builder, they are just as good and trendy offer you to build flash sites0 -
should be fine , use decent quality pictures but not too many as it slows down web page loading, or link from the homepage to "pictures of my work" if required on another pageEx forum ambassador

I have to agree that the 123-reg website tool is awful. I have registered the domain with them for two years though and that bit is fine, so I guess it is easiest to build a site elsewhere and then just point the domain to it.0 -

even when you build a website you will need that site to be hosted somewhere
with a bit of still you can build a website with dreamweaver, but once you have built it you save it to your computer and have to find a host to host it0 -

True, but I assumed the likes of Moonfruit do host the website as part of their service?0 -

some do but they are very limited to what they offer in their hosting, such as space and features0 -
Do not forget that there are always plenty of options of freeware website builders given away with magazines. I use WebSite X5 which I got from a a magazine cover and I can do work on my laptop without an internet connection.Signaller, author, father, carer.0

exactly but as i told the OP that no mater what you use to build a site it needs hosting.0 -
Sorry easyhost, I missed you saying that.
But I do think (no disrespect to yourself and your suggestion) if they are looking for a serverside WYSIWYG builder, then there might be easier options than Dreamweaver.Signaller, author, father, carer.0 -
For a business website they (and anyone else) should really should try to have a site built by a professional.
There is nothing worse than seeing a website open up with www.yourdomain.moonfruit.com or any other variant. Also having email@yourdomain is better than businesses using yahoo, hotmail, gmail and any other free webmail service.Estate Agent, Web Designer & All Round Geek!0
