How do you put a set top box onto an LCD TV?

the name "set top box" isn't literal. You can connect the freeview box into the scart socket or aerial socket and sit it by the side or, depending on how wide the box is, set the TV on the box instead. Indeed, let's now call the TV a "box top set".Monthly Food Budget: out of the window0 -

Just a SCART actually. Virtually no STB's come with UHF modulators to allow you to see the freeview channels via the aerial lead.
They do have aerial loop-thru for the STB to allow the received analogue signal to pass in to the TV, but it won't modulate the freeview channels on it.cazziebo wrote:won't it fall off....?

rogerramjet wrote:The one in the picture of the OP's post does not look the same as the boxes on display (the infrared sensor is just a small rectangular bit on the front) the one in the pic has VGA input, pc speaker input, scart and tv areial input. Can anyone who's bought one with the small infrared sensor on the tv confirm the inputs are the same?
thanks
The product does indeed have VGA input, audio input (via 2 x phono sockets for L + R), scart, tv aerial. It also has video input (phono plug), s-vhs input, headphone and line out (phono L+R).
Initial view is it's a great deal for the £££. Good spec, easy setup, good pic quality. I have set it up with a freeview box and the only slight niggle is that when you power off the freeview box, the screen does not switch off at the same time. Fortunately it has auto power off after 5 minutes. Perhaps there is a setting somewhere to control this but haven't found it yet.
It does seem to be a dual model as the same helpline for dual products is provided.0 -

Damn...wished I picked one up earlier now, it appears better than the one I looked at on display (as in OP) hope there's some left when I eventually get up in the morning :OWelcome, rogerramjet.

Picked one up yesterday evening. It will be ideal for the conservatory. Thanks to OP.0

I went in my asda yesterday and there was loads left and this was in the afternoon, you probably need to shop around alittle. The screen is very small though, could'nt tell what the picture quality was like because the one on show was not on.0
