Currently on EDF Online Saver V7, (having successfully got Quidco £80 bonus and EDF £100 bonus :T)... just wondering whether the likely price rises (off the back of the Scottish Power announcement) will affect this tariff (they didn't back in March) and whether it would be worth trying to move over to the EDF Fixed Price 2014 tariff??

I have put my actual annual consumption for dual fuel in one of the comparison sites and it is suggesting the fixed product will be £60 more expensive (10% increase)...

What say the collective wisdom of MSE??

I'm on this tariff and in the VERY fortunate position of having an account that has being set up correctly and have had online access for a couple of months now.

Am i right in thinking that they've told us we're ok to december on this tariff. My finger not really on the pulse at the mo since account set up and running.

If it is the case we're fixed till december then i think it makes a harder choice.

Personally, i'm leaning towards going with the cheapest medium term deal on a fixed rate.

    Points to consider-

    1) this is a good cheap tariff which i will reluctantly give up but the real benefit was over the past winter

    2) in december this tariff will possibly rocket

    3) may have to pay cancellation charges for this-has anyone left yet.

I'm glad you asked the question as they must be a few of us thinking the same.

Anyone? Like i said been a few months since i looked at energy prices. Energyhelpline & quico (possibly) here i come again.

Ps-i've just seen you mentioned an EDF 2014 rate-that would probably get round the cancellations charges.

yeah-i saw it and energyhelpline seems to confirm it. The 2014 deal would save any cancellation charges.

Don't know where i got that december stuff from. I'm sure htere was talk about it when the price promise finished-end of march wasn't it?

That makes it an easier choice as far as i'm concerned.
  • beaten to it ;) - yes the prices are going up - belated march 1st increases , an extra 2 1/2 months to pay off xmas at a lower rate than everyone else :D
