Great idea, switch to another provider who will no doubt follow Scottish Power's lead in the next few weeks/months.
i'm sorry i only suggested trying to get a better provider through an online tool that finds the cheapest energy supplier.

you want a tool that looks into the future that will tell you what energy prices from each energy suppliers will have in the future.

sorry but i don't think that exists.

I think you will find plenty of "tools" around on here who can predict the future, but not very accurately.

hasn't anyone heard of uSwitch or is every single person in the UK using Scottish power and aren't able to change fuel provider?

Unless people are able to get a good deal on a fix now (highly unlikely after Scottish Powers announcement) they are all going to follow suit in the next few weeks anyway chucky.

Plus there is always the risk you could move to a supplier who hikes their prices even higher than Scottish Power.

It does. Though you do have to wait for 36 hours before it arrives here.

Lol, they sell power wholesale from the grid not just what they produce.

There is no way of getting electricity produced by a certain company to your house. It is just electricity, the electricity transported on the national grid.

Think of it like a pot, not strands for each supplier going to each house.

If investigating the the potential to find a cheaper supplier is greeted with such apathy on a money saving website the utility companies will be delighted.

Just stating the facts wotstat. The utility companies don't have a very good track record on this, do they? :)

Well I'll keep changing to the cheapest energy provider every 12-18 months. You keep taking the shaft.

And there was us thinking that the electricity from Scottish power was identified by its tartan electrons and that we had special meters that only allowed those through.
