Faulty item, seller wants me to resend to CHINA !!

If i send the 26 quid item back to china recorded delivery.. it would prob cost more than the item!.

I feel totally scammed and have opened a case. Whats my chances of winning?

Item number is 280582254034

It shows staines,uk as location and in searches doesn't show as 'foreign' i.e. canada/china.

Now im totally jipped with a cheap faulty battery and relying on ebay to see the wrong in his ad.

He does go onto list that customer service place is in china.. and say that a Royal mail storehouse posts items from UK... which is a crock of p oo they send it direct from hong kong first warning sign i realised.

Anyone got experience with this?

If the location of the listing states UK, then ring Ebay and ask them for a UK address. If you need to return an item, you need to use an online trackable means in order to win any dispute.

Just as a side note, no Royal Mail services guarantees tracking outside of the UK.

Yes, his business address is in China. However, as the location of the item states UK you need to get on the phone to Ebay and ask for a UK address.

Is it faulty or is it fake?

If it's fake, you can open a dispute in EBAY (not Paypal) as the onus is on the seller to prove it is authentic. You will not need to send it back, but will have to chance the Ebay team knowing they understand their own rules.

Phoned ebay first woman said wouldn't get a number just postcode town and county for the return address. So i wouldn't be able to return it that way... now being transferred to ebay resolution team.. even though i already opened a case.

basically the guys doing it on purpose if you look at feedback to reduce returns and basically sell these shoddy batteries.

Spoke through to resolution team she was just bull s$hiting me. Basically talking about that i would have to send it back to china if seller wanted it sent there.. so i said if seller wanted me to send it to south america would i be obliged.. she said yes.

    Arghh.

So anyways she said i had to wait 10 days for resolution timer.... Really annoyed at ebay..

If it's a fake. Tell them you opened the wrong dispute and see if they will change it. That way, you won't have to send it back.

Is this correct? I thought the buyer had to produce written evidence within a few days from a shop or similar to claim it is a fake.

    Yes, it's a massive ambiguity.

With Paypal the buyer needs to prove fake within ten days of opening the dispute.

With ebay the onus is in the seller the prove the item is authentic.

So you need to open the dispute which suits you!

It seems to be a new way of scamming UK buyers.
Chinese sellers open a wharehouse in the UK, the item location is the UK, have a generous return policy, a UK-sounding ID, and buyers never realise they are buying chines carp.

The only way to know is to look at the business address at the bottom of listings, or check the country of registration on the fb page.
