Are jogging trousers now commonly a part of the main school uniform?

There is a lovely (and fee paying) school near me and the reception class and year 1's wear royal blue joggers and sweats with the school name on, they look nice and comfortable and not in the least chavvy.Slightly bitter0

A local school to me has their reception class in joggers and a polo top. It is designed to be relaxed wear to settle the little ones in and helps to differentiate them in the playground so they can keep an eye on the younger ones.
My childrens school is straight into normal uniform

Looks like even the schools are going the chav route now then .
Well that makes no sense.... we're not talking orange joggers with bright blue stripes down the side and the Adidas logo in the biggest size it could be.
My siblings have dark navy blue cotton joggers which look un-chavvishMoney money money.

I spoke to the school and apparently jogging trousers ARE school uniform for the little ones but when they go up to the next class it will change. I was all looking forward to buying some snazzy school trousers for my son. Oh well, I'll have to wait another year.0

We've got joggers for PE and grey trousers for regular school.0

My son wears joggers for school - but he is in a special school and has continence problems. Pupils are allowed joggers as many cannot manage buttons and zips. No other school in our area allows joggers as part of school uniform though, even if a child is overweight.
Incidentally, I don't regard my son as a chav, just a child who has special needs and struggles with formal trousers. Dark grey joggers with no logo can look quite decent.0 -
I work in a school and our littlies are asked to wear dark coloured joggers in the Nursery (easier for them) and grey trousers from reception classes up. Works for us!You can't have everything.........where would you put it?0
