T-Mobile PAYG Free Internet for 6 Months

I'm taking advantage of the T-Mobile offer of 6 months free internet when you buy a new smartphone on PAYG from them.

Have any of you done this?

I'm worried about it because I'm planning on keeping my old sim card. If I buy in the shop will I be able to have the offer registered to my old sim card? My old sim is about 6 years old.

I presume the offer is linked to the sim card in the box by default....?

    Who are you currently with?

If your number is currently connected to anyone other than T-mobile, simply call them, explain you wish to leave and ask for PAC (port authorisation code).

At the time of purchase with T-mobile, explain you want to transfer you existing mobile number, and they'll want your PAC details.

If you are already with T-mobile, just explain you want to upgrade.

The 6-month internet option is also available to all T-mobile PAYG customers for £20 from your credit (text 6MONTHWEB to 441), so if you are offered the handset without the internet deal, that's what it would cost.

I am with T-Mobile at present, yes.

So, do you mean that the 6-month free offer is only available to 'new' customers?

The free internet is with the SIM that comes with the phone. You can use your current SIM in the phone, but the free internet will be on the new one.

Which phone were you looking at?

    Hi Stuart.

I've done a fair bit of research etc, and it is the HTC Wildfire I'm going for. I only need a 'budget' smartphone.

Someone has told me that T-Mobile cannot swap my old T-Mobile PAYG number onto the new sim card......??
