Broadband without phone line

I was wondering is it possible to have a cheap internet without a BT/Virgin phone line? I know there are dedicated line solutions, but what about just a normal cheap £10 a month internet with no phone line?

As per regular advice - mobile dongle is the only alternative to BT or Virgin lines.

Hi Dan,
Depends on 1) what you will be doing with it and 2) where you'll be using it.

1) if you plan on downloading or streaming music or videos then that will use a lot of data and a dongle is not likely to last you very long; a 1GB data allowance would equate to around 3hrs of video or 10hrs of music (longer if you compromise on quality)
2) if you in an urban area then there might be metropolitan wifi; services like BT-OpenZone cover a lot of town and city centres or you might have a local pub/cafe/hotel/fast-food that has either free or cheap wifi

Without knowing more about your situation it's tricky giving any specific advice sorry.

You don't need a VM phone line to get their BB but there is very little saving from not taking it as the multi-product discount is reduced.

Unless your download needs are tiny the only viable option is VM cable or ADSL (which needs the phone line).
