I have just received the £125 maximum cashback.
My account was opened on 16th June. I passed money through it to both egg savings and to YBS savings.
Because it was paid all in one go it is not possible to say whether cashback was earned on all transactions but I can say for sure that cashback was earned on debit card deposits to YBS saving accounts.

Tks for the update, noh. Didja receive yr cashback all in one dollop? Or month-by-month like their T&Cs said?

Sorry -- forget that question --- I now see that you said it was "all in one go"....

So....it seems they DO pay cash back on payment of credit cards, then..? And not declared "out of bounds" under their T&Cs as Electronic Funds Transfer (or whatever). But I bet some people (i.e. me...) would have it jumped on from a great height if we tried it...

  • I saw this cashback offer advertised for RBS select in September, I applied but now they now say it needed an account opened before July

Does anyone know when it ended?
  • Got the same offer as an existing customer, however it excludes all the possible combinations to move large sums of money on the card to another account or withdraw it or transfer it. The only option seems to be that you have to spend on it :-(

Think they would like me to credit the account with a grand a month :-)

I get my cashack each month but this will come to an end at the end of the six month period. It was a good way to promote the account its a shame it couldn't have been carried on even if the cashack was of a smaller percentage.

The offer was withdrawn on Friday 12th August 2011.
Whilst my posts do not constitute financial advice, I am always, without fail, 100% right! :D

Re. RBS 2% cashback on spending till February. There has been an invitation-only(?) offer during September for accounts opened to the end of October gone out to selected customers (I got a letter, applied for one and my account has been now been opened and the PIN letter arrived today. Just need the card now.)

Mention is made of 'switching' but appears only a suggestion - cashback only requires £1K credit each calendar month to be triggered.
.....under construction.... COVID is a [discontinued] scam
