NatWest are offering 2% cashback to new current account customers.

Restricted to £125 and in the first 6 months, but could be a nice bonus for someone moving accounts.

    T+Cs here
    http://www.natwest.com/personal/current-accounts/g2/cashback-terms.ashx

It's 2% cashback on debit card spending providing that £1000 is paid in per month.
    No need to switch accounts.

Having read the T+Cs it looks like it may be worth opening an account and using the debit card to pay my egg money credit card bill.
That way it will be 2% back from Natwest and 1% from egg.
I can't see any exclusion for that type of debit card use.

As we speculated on one of the other threads on this offer, I suspect it falls under either (c) or (e) in the exclusions...
This offer does not apply to: (a) ATM withdrawals; (b) point of sale cashback at a retailer; (c) money transfers; (d) gambling transactions; (e) electronic cash transfers; and (f) branch counter withdrawals.
I did wonder if making deposits to an Egg Savings account (as many of us did with the LTSB save the change match a few years ago), or a YBS Internet Saver, with the card might slip though the net? Can't try it myself as I'm an existing customer, but might be worth a punt for others?

I've just applied so will find out. I am an existing Natwest customer but only have a savings account hopefully they will be fairly quick in opening an account providing I don't fail their credit checks it will be my 12th current account.
I do have empty egg saving accounts and a YBS saver so will give those a try if I get the account.

It'd be nice to get some feedback, but I suspect if it works you'll want to keep quiet...at least until you've amassed the £125. ;)

They took me when I had a similar number of current accounts, and even paid me a £150 incentive (should have been £100 but they slipped up and paid one of the £50 elements twice! ;)) as an existing eSavings account holder.

It's largely dormant now, but I'm keeping it open as my donor account for any switching offers that crop up. :)

That was Jan/Feb 2006 - you're showing your age YB! I remember not being able to get that simply because I only held a Lloyds cashcard at the time and they would not simply upgrade to debit card at my request straight away...

As for this NatWest offer.. existing customer, aren't I? (or in MSE terms someone who forgot to close his account promptly after the last payoff. Very slack..)
.....under construction.... COVID is a [discontinued] scam

    Never been a Natwest customer

Have had a look at the T&C's and also the important info regarding Natwest in Scotland, but still not fully sure.

Does this deal still stand if I open up an account online if I live in Scotland?
