    Go in to the Device Manager. Are there any yellow question marks there?


    Im in there, theres Yellows on, Multimedia Audio controller, PCI modem, SM Bus controller abd video controller...I tried updating but they wont :(

    A little more RAM wouldn't go amiss. Another 512 MB RAM module would take it up to 1GB RAM. Here for £10.99

    BUT because it's an Advent, you can expect it to be a little more complicated. :)

    There are two memory slots, one easily accessed from the bottom of the laptop and the other not so easily accessed under the keyboard.

    If the existing RAM module is using the slot beneath the keyboard, then all is good; just slot the new RAM in to the easily accessible slot at the bottom of the laptop. If the slot at the bottom of the laptop is the one currently used, you may prefer to buy a 1 GB RAM module instead in order to just replace the 512 MB module. rather than to have to remove the keyboard.

    Fitting RAM is very simple. As long as you have fingers, you can do it yourself.
