hi with reference about ppi claims
has anyone had any dealings with the Halifax plc?
when the ppi claims started along time ago i put in letter's to the Halifax regarding a complaint about ppi,
it took a while to receive a response not as clear cut as i thought
As to date i have sent numerous letters also templates through the FOB.
I have heard from FOB apparently looking a complaint!!
but nothing from the main source the halifax.......has anyone else had similar problems or been successful with there claim

I had a successful claim with Halifax just a few months ago. They were very co-operative and when they went over the time limit they sent me a letter to apologise and explain.
Mind you, I had a cast iron case of mis-selling that they couldn't argue with.
Are you able to post the response that Halifax sent to you? There are time limits that they must adhere to?
What was your reason for claiming your PPI was mis-sold?0 -
Once you refer it to the FOS, the firm stops dealing with it. So, you wouldnt hear from Halifax after that until. At least not until the FOS make a decision.
You haven't said what the PPI is. Mortgage, loan, credit card etc. Or whether it was under advice, direct to provider, information only or via bank clerk. So, its hard to say if anyone has had anything similar to you.I am an Independent Financial Adviser (IFA). The comments I make are just my opinion and are for discussion purposes only. hi sorry the ppi was on a loan i took out the ppi on which was advised from the bank (Halifax) for redundancy ETC.....
i have had numeral loans from them and every time was advised to take out the ppi insurance only recently going over some small print i wanted to know if i was covered for everything i made a appointment to speak with a ppi consultant with the Halifax explained my case ref i am registered disabled, it turns out the insurance only covers certain disability illness. i was diagnosed with my disability a long time back now and had numerous loans from the Halifax on explaining this they advised me that it also covers for other things like redundancies or other illness's great ye but if i was to finish work un-necessarily i probably would have been because of my disability not to put a burden on myself.......he explained i could open a saving plan and put some money away every month toward the UN necessarily illness.
i ask whats the point of the ppi insurance they.............blank face no answer......:A:A0 -
I put a claim in last year. They sent the cheque for £1200 within a week, then sent me a letter saying they'll look into it. lol0

I sent off the questionnaire to complain about the PPI on a loan I have with the Halifax. I received a letter back from them last week acknowledging my complaint, and stating that it would be looked into.
Does anyone know how long they typically take to actually do their investigation?~cherie0 -

It tells you in the letter - up to 8 weeks. if they do not give an answer in that timescale, you can refer to the FOS.I am an Independent Financial Adviser (IFA). Might be better to wait though a little longer than 8 weeks because once at the FOS it can take years.0
