nothing at all, no finance, hp, installments, credit cards, loans, just the mortgage which is £520pcm , if we cant pay for it outright we go without until we can afford it

    Mortgage is still debt.

While this is true the patronising 'if we cant pay for it outright we go without until we can afford it' seemed a bit of a dig...

Well we have set holidays withen the company to take so everyone is off at the same time. If the money is there and I'm giving something to do at work I really enjoy I might work 2 weeks. I can always take them off later on in the year. And it will be like a holiday as I won't have people telling me what to do, il be in charge.

    rictus123,

Ok I get what you mean now. At my place we are usually short staffed or have people off sick on or hols so there are always extra hours I can pick up. Sometimes we are so short we have to cover our own holidays so our manager lets us work our sheduled shift and gives us annual leave for the same shift. However, this means that we miss out on our annual leave, although my job is time rich and cash poor so sometimes this is the better option.

    rictus123,

Can I just say... Ive read some of your other posts and as a 19 year old working so hard to pay off debts and earning the amount you do, youre truely inspiring! I hope I dont sound to patronizing, but for someone of your age to have the attitude and determination to pay off your debts the way you are, youre an absolute gem! I really hope you go far in life...and Im sure you will!!

I'm paying off anywhere from £500-£1200 a month depending on how much overtime I can pick up (£500 is if I do none, £1200 is if I do 84hrs overtime, which means working nearly every day if I take no leave!). I'd be paying it off until I was 300 without the overtime! I too do the "book leave, then do overtime" trick.

Thanks!! I feel very stupid for getting into more than £15k of debt at my age!! My car will be getting handed back in October though so with overpaying other debts, overall debts will be down to £7500 by October + with £2,500 in ISA so i feel like im on the right road....its just a long one.

    Now - £15k
    October - £7.5k
    March - Debt free.

THats my aims. And i say March as im going to Florida in May so being debt free by March will give me march april and half of may to save for going away!!So motivated to get debt free im addicted to this site!!

In theory I pay £550, £125 over the minimum, but for the last couple of months other things have got in the way and I havent quite managed this much. £550 is 24% of our monthly income so quite a big chunk.

All CC debts are interest free so at least its going down.
