Bringing this back to the top for day timers! I have 3 weeks paid holiday in the summer however on top of that I am allowed to work at my overtime rate. So that would be 15.93 an hour. For a weeks work and a half and have a week and a half off that could see me do at least 70 hours. That's 1120 before tax and insurance on top of my holiday pay. Would go along way for me.what does everyone think

Currently £740, which is a lot, however it's all interest free and well over the minimums.

If I just paid off the minimum each month it would add up to £330.

I'm just starting on a DMP, putting £60 a month towards debt. I am on a low income and have some unavoidable expenses (long distance travel twice a month to visit my ill father who is in a care-home at the other end of the country and won't be coming out any time soon), but was a bit generous with my budget with CCCS as I wanted to have some wriggle room. If it turns out I can live on a smaller amount, I will up the payments to CCCS to somewhere in the region of £100 to £120.

On a regular month I pay off around £650 per month, but it varies on how much extra income I bring in.

    June will be -
£200 to my parents (Last payment in Sept 2011).
£380 to credit card number 1 on a low interest rate (just £380 left so last payment!).
£200 on CC2 (last months purchases) but I've earnt enough extra last month to clear this once my money comes in on the 15th.
    £160 for car finance.

July sees the start on the overdraft which is currently £2500 but it's halifax £1 a day however much you owe so it was better for me to clear the CCs first. Aim to clear that by Christmas and then start on saving for the final car payment due in May 2012 which will be around £4500. I don't think I'll be able to cover that completely, so we'll see what the options are next April. I see a dim light at the end of the tunnel!
  • Currently aiming for about £200 a month. I don't have huge debts in the grand scheme of things and have just shifted CC into a 0% deal for the rest of this year (from Halifax), so will hopefully be clear by 2012.

No savings as yet - I took Martin's advice and as debt's costing more than savings were earning I threw it all at my Halifax credit card to drop the level below the limit on my cheaper Tesco card. Halifax have just given me a BT offer of 0% for 9 months, so the debt's all gone back to them so I can attack it for 'free'.

When I'm clear the money I'm spending on debt will be saved. I'm REALLY looking forward to being able to save £200 EVERY month!
    It's only numbers.
