Advice on buying first mobile phone
Hi, I am a 53 year old lady and I would like some advice regarding buying my first mobile phone. I just want a cheap mobile for calls and texts, I don't want the internet on it. My use for this would really be for emergencies, so I would be a very low user.
My reason for not buying a mobile before is that I was concerned that I would'nt be using the phone enough and consequently be disconneted.
I have o2 broadband for the internet on my laptop, although I don't mind which network I have.
I would be very much obliged if somone could give me some advice please re buying a mobile and which tariff to go for.

If you get an O2 pay and go mobile, and topup at least £10 every 3 months, then you get a discount on your O2 home broadband. (£5 a month).
This way you get a mobile, and save £20 a year on your broadband.0 -

You cannot get it wrong with Nokia 1800 or refurbished Nokia 2330 for £4.90+£10

Check quidco/TCB for £6-7 cashback.
To keep any PAYG sim alive you have to make just one chargeable call every three months. The phones are likely to be unlocked and can be used on any network, but it will not make a big difference for a "very low user". However, if you want to save a few pence consider:MorrisonsEmployee wrote: »Tesco Lite - Calls 8p/Text 4p - http://phone-shop.tesco.com/tesco-mobile/help-and-support/call-charges-payg-litetariff.aspx

Thank you very much Tardis1 and Grumbler for your advice. I will look into both your suggestions.0
