Abby who had kidney failure left me today, she tried hard to stay but the last couple of days were just to much for her, she'd stopped eating and this morning she was refusing to drink. I took her to her vet who agreed that no more could be done and that it was her time, it was very peaceful and very quick. We held her and told her how much we loved her, I'd only had her in my life for just over three years but they were fantastic years and she gave us a lot of laughs.
Night night sweetheart, mum loves you very much and I'll see you again someday :heartsmil

God bless Abby Sleep in peace.
By the edge of a woods, at the foot of a hill,
Is a lush, green meadow where time stands still.
Where the friends of man and woman do run,
When their time on earth is over and done.
For here, between this world and the next,
Is a place where each beloved creature finds rest.
On this golden land, they wait and they play,
Till the Rainbow Bridge they cross over one day.
No more do they suffer, in pain or in sadness,
For here they are whole, their lives filled with gladness.
Their limbs are restored, their health renewed,
Their bodies have healed, with strength imbued.
They romp through the grass, without even a care,
Until one day they start, and sniff at the air.
All ears !!!!! forward, eyes dart front and back,
Then all of a sudden, one breaks from the pack.
For just at that instant, their eyes have met;
Together again, both person and pet.
So they run to each other, these friends from long past,
The time of their parting is over at last.
The sadness they felt while they were apart,
Has turned into joy once more in each heart.
They embrace with a love that will last forever, And then, side-by-side, they cross over… together.RIP TJ. You my be gone, but never forgotten. Always in our hearts xxxHe is your friend, your partner, your defender, your dog.You are his life, his love, his leader. He will be yours, faithful and true, to the last beat of his heart. You owe it to him to be worthy of such devotion.0 -

Awww Kinski, I am so, so sorry to hear that. I don't know what to say as having an oldie with medical problems, I know how hard it is dreading when the time will come.
The length of time you had her does not matter - know that she enjoyed her last years in a home where she was truely loved.
Chris n tj - that is a beautiful poem and how I hope it's true.

Thank you allAh, bless. Is she a sheltie?
She is, she was 8 or 9 when we got her and I thought she would have been with me for at least another couple of years. I've got another sheltie Arran who is 4.rising_from_the_ashes wrote: »Awww Kinski, I am so, so sorry to hear that. It really is hard, I'm having a hard time with it one moment and the next I'm glad that it's over for her and that she's not suffering any more. She was loved very much and we're all heartbroken that she's gone. I believe in Rainbow bridge and I'm looking forward to one day being reunited with both Abby and Ailsa who was my first sheltie and any other dogs I might be lucky enough to have in my life.0 -
When I was just a few months old, my mum & dad bought a sheltie pup called Sheena. I shared my life with her until the age of 14, she died when we were on holiday and I was heartbroken.
